Emem Isong’s New Movie is a Strong Reminder of Our History and Culture

Award-winning film maker, Emem Isong-Misodi, is back again with a mind-blowing epic movie/musical titled “Ayamma”, to make another bold statement in the industry.

The movie, starring top Nollywood stars, including Wale Ojo, Majid Michel, Adesua Etomi, Theresa Edem who play unusual roles while acting alongside Ime Bishop Umoh, Moses Armstrong, Ekere Nkanga and other talented actors, is billed to hit the big screen on December 23.

Wale Ojo plays the role of a noble crowned prince, Adesua Etomi plays the role of a charming orphaned village girl, Majid Michel plays the role of a prince as well and Theresa Edem plays the role of a ruthless princess. All together they pull performances certain to leave the audience awe. ‘Ayamma’ is a cultural renaissance of the rich African heritage mirrored in the rich culture of the Ibibio people.

The movie which is a strong reminder of our history and culture was shot in the beautiful city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It centres on the themes of love, hatred, betrayal, loss, hope and victory. Interspersed with music and dance, the epic drama is laced with humour as Ime Bishop Umoh plays a fascinating role as a village drunk. The movie is directed by ace director and content producer, Chris Eneaji, who has successfully directed movies like “Murder” at prime Suites and Secret Room. Emem Isong Misodi has constantly proved herself to be an icon to be reckoned with in the Nigerian movie industry.
